.loneliness.

you know where i am. don’t make me repeat myself.

had conflict(s) of interest with my housemate. no, not like my opinion is this and you should listen. it’s more like omg, are you even human?!

this morning she didn’t wake up at her usual time. before i knocked on her door to tell her i’m off, i was imagining that she might have killed herself (she is kinda depressed) during the night. yeay!

that’s just sick sick sick of me kan? *sigh*

ramadhan pun dah nak dekat. baiklah kiranya aku tidak berbuat dosa pada orang ini. sabar syitah, sabar. lumrah hidup berkongsi rumah ni. a close friend said that i already went through similar situation during my hostel years thus i should be okay with this. haha~ adeh.

evenings are the most lonesome moment of the day. why? usually i would fight the loneliness by having a cup of hot addictive nescafe to get my heart pumping and my mind whirling faster to forget my current state (this is my dinner). add fun, colorful online games to that and messaging ^__^. prepare for tomorrow’s lessons. talking to friends near and far through yahoo! messenger also helps (tp kdng2 tambah sunyi gak)  i can’t call my parents, bertambah la kesepiannye!. in short, keep busy.

on a brighter side, my school received an unplanned visit from the pegawai pelajaran daerah and two of his penyelia. he said they got lost and stumbled upon our school on their way out of garau. heh. see the remarks.

two weeks of teaching and already had my rancangan pengajaran checked, a fellow colleague said that i was lucky. he started teaching on 2005 and this was his first experience meeting the ppd people. lucky ke? there are 26 districts altogether in sabah and kudat is at no. 26 in terms of academic excellence. huhu. the ppd’s target for this year is to get to the 13th rank. anyways, matno’s school pun suda received a visit before the school holiday.

quick notes:

  1. preschool is under construction, everyone involved is busy thus pn. jutina cancelled our participation in the three days state level preschool talent carnival. no being judge for me. deng! ingt bleh ponteng ngaja haha~
  2. on 14th of august during the staff meeting, i was appointed to be the emcee for sambutan merdeka peringkat sekolah on this 29th. parents and villagers alike will attend the celebration. wish me luck! huhu.
  3. tried applying teaching ideas/advices from friends to year 1 pupils. seemed to be working!

p/s: mak abah, maaf la adik susahkan kome sbb posting sini huhu. thank you for everything. *gaji cepatla!*

menggantikan pk koko (tidak dpt hadir) sebagai pengadil pertandingan nyanyian
solo dan bercerita bahasa inggeris. a good experience.

kebetulan,
pk koko tersebut adalah bapa kepada housemate yat di sk batu layar, pulau
banggi.

empat
murid prasekolah mengambil bahagian. 2 org sertai pertandingan mewarna. seorang
deklamasi sajak dan seorang lagi bercerita bahasa malaysia. tetapi kedua-dua ni tidak
berjaya dipujuk keluar dari belakang pentas untuk bertanding. hehe tarik diri.
sudah comel2 di make-up tu.

.

.

weekend,
9 dan 10 ogos:

dzull
datang dari paitan, perjalanan selama 2 jam dari kota marudu. yat, matno and a new friend,
reen datang dari pulau banggi. kami berkumpul di kudat selama dua hari. beli
barang-barang keperluan dan berjalan-jalan ke tanjung simpang mengayau aka the
tip of borneo. great view!

.hectic week.

several
of teylians and i arrived at sabah around 10.15 am on the 1st of august. we
were charted by a few buses to the nearest hotel which is the ‘airport view
hotel’. as it name indicates, we can see, hear and smell airplanes from our
respective hotel rooms. many others were already there as the first flight from
klia was on 4am.

we
were briefed for half a day. i later learnt
from my former and current housemates that their batch spent at least three
days in putrajaya and klang for their orientation and briefing before flying to
sabah. why our batch needed only half a day? it’s a mystery even to me (haha
secret window!).

many
occurrences brought me to my current state. to cut it short, i moved twice to
now settle in a decent one-storey terrace house. i make new friends and
acquaintances along the way. kakaks, gurubesars and cikgus. hehe. alhamdulillah
for the help and thoughtful gestures received from these gracious persons. i
will forever be grateful for their welcoming comfort and if i can’t repay their
kindness directly, i hope i could return the same sense of security they gave
me to the next batch of gurus sandaran. insyaallah.

for
now, i go to school with another teacher of SK Garau, cikgu wati and her cute
niece. my GB arranged this idea of transportation. therefore, every morning
around 6.15am, my housemate (an oversea tesl graduate) who is also on her way
to school, will give me a short ride to the bus stop just outside of my
residential area and there i will wait for cikgu wati. usually she’ll arrived
at 6.30am and the journey to our school will take half an hour of 40km or so.
she’s an insistent driver that one. school starts at 7.00am for Semai program
and classes starts at 7.15am. i teach english to Year 1 and 5. after school, i
will walk home from the bus stop.

the
school has no canteen and no electricity (but the GB’s room has it because a
few days ago the GB and a few male teachers made a wiring connection from one
of the rumah guru to his room). food is only for pupils who receive rancangan
makanan tambahan and apparently all 206 of them are qualified to join the
program. pupils will bring their own food containers to the cook’s place aka
house and eat in the classrooms. so, teachers have to bawa bekal from home la.
thank God there’s water supply. teachers’ ‘relief room’ is always kept locked.
pupils share theirs, one for each year. there’s only six classes.

it
might seem effortless to teach and manage a school with only six classes but it
is gravely challenging as you’d have a highly mixed ability and level of
intelligences in pupils of each class. a friend mentioned that in this
situation, english should be taught as a third language. some of my pupils
can’t even comprehend bahasa malaysia (apatah lg BI) as their mother-tongue is bahasa rungus. maybe kpm people should
consider such situation and restructure the shortcomings in the syllabus for tesl
graduates in teaching institutes everywhere. haha. adeh.

lo and behold!

SK Garau

Peti Surat 570

89058 Kudat

call me? 088 637006

go google earth, see if you can find the area. i doubt it.

i have been busy. didnt have the time to slip away from dealing with the packing of my luggage and go online since i got the big news or spend time to sit, write and post an entry at the nearest internet café, which is 6km from my place now. that six does seem much farther when you don’t have any transportation and the available ones are called ‘pirate’, an equivalent of kereta sapu, not advisable to be ridden alone if you’re a female which i am. how la to go out then wey?

as soon as i can get my hands on internet connection, these are what i’m going to do:

  • post more entries. i’ll save the written ones first. so you might read a few entries at one shot.

  • friendster friendster!

  • neopets neopets neopets!

  • look for materials and resources for teaching

dang! did i just place all that according to my priority? tch tch.
